“There is a force within that gives you life - Seek that.
In your body there lies a priceless jewel - Seek that.
Oh, wandering One, if you are in search of the greatest treasure, don’t look
outside.
Look within, and seek That.”
Rumi

The Woman in Your Life, Amy LaCour
April 19, 1939
We share an anniversary with my paternal grandparents, Viola and Aloysius LaCour. They were married in Natchitoches, Louisiana on April 19, 1939. My grandparents were a part of the Cane River Creole community: Americans who descended from African and French ancestry. Our community is said to trace back to former slave, Marie Theresa “CoinCoin” and Frenchman, Claude Thomas Pierre Metoyer.

“The Woman in Your Life” was written during the year that I was engaged to my husband. Until I met him, I wasn’t so sure that I was the marrying kind. He has proven me wrong (many times, in fact). We were married on April 19, 2008. Our wedding was one of the finest days of my life as we were surrounded by so many of the people who we love most. And we danced and danced and danced.…. Happy Anniversary, my dear.
Welcome to The Sonora Sessions.
Please, meet the band…
